Vision Zero "Pop-Up Oasis" at the Lawndale 5K

As part of my work on Vision Zero Chicago’s West Side outreach, I proposed, designed, and helped plan a block-long pop-up oasis at the annual Lawndale 5K. Me & my colleagues designed a place of respite for the 5K that included seating area with live plants, live painting, mini-massages, activities for kids, plus  cookie decorating and a photo booth by Divvy Bikes, along with Vision Zero kiosks, swag, and my “Design a Street” activity.

The event aimed to get locals to rethink streets as places for people, not just cars – and to recruit them as advocates to reach Vision Zero’s goals.
